Do the Polka

As I'm accepting my body- the way it is currently- I'm slowly gaining confidence in dressing myself- in styles that I like, regardless of if they're "bolder" than my norm.

Polka Dots- in mint- are not my norm.
But, I saw the shirt at Old Navy & fell in love.

As I went to put the sweater on Sunday Morning- I realized, I didn't have any dress pants or an appropriately colored skirt to match it. (Typical me- shop, then pair.)
I put on a favorite Gray dress (Target) & slipped the sweater over top.

Next time I shop, skirts & pants will be on the list. I buy way more shirts & blouses than anything else.
While I'm by no means good at pairing stylishly, I'm fairly good at improvising & throwing things together to create something public-worthy. :)

Being Obvious

I'm slowly finding my style. Although, I'm sure it will change over the years- and even when we officially move in- but until those points, I've been flipping through any sort of decor magazine within reach & documenting all of my ideas!

For now, I'm digging bold, fresh, chic & truthfully obvious designs. Hence the first two photos- both describe me amazingly well!

Thanksgiving Deets

Hello
Lovelies!

Hoping your Thanksgiving Day has gone wonderfully.

I typically don't do style posts- just because I'm a bit shy about them. So be easy on me! :)
I wanted to be festive but comfortable. So I stuck with warm, rich colors.

The sweater, leggings & boots are all from Old Navy!
Nail Polish is L'Oreal in shades Downtown Chic (dark) and Tea & Crumpets (light- and my go to favorite color!)
Necklace is an oldie from Forever21
Bag, Coach.

My hair was straightened & then curled- it's classy & still fun, I think.

Other than stylin', Thanksgiving was full of In-Laws & good food, as it should be!

Now, onto leftovers & Christmas decorations!!

Inspector Gadget

Happy Monday, Dolls!

As you can imagine, over the next several Months, especially, my blog will discuss quite a bit "all things house".  I'm obviously over the moon with excitement about being in the running for our first Home!

We had our inspection on Sunday afternoon- and it went well! A few minor things that need dealt with....( Mice in the basement?? Moneypenny doesn't have teeth & 007 has no claws- I guess they'll have to use some teamwork?? )

I'm already coming up with some fun decor ideas. I've never been able to decorate my own place- so I have no idea what my 'style' is.  I'm pretty sure I like neutrals- clean, fresh, airy.

I'm thinking about painting the stairs all white- with a stair runner. Gray stripes? Anyone have any (mis)adventures in painting stairs?

Of course Starbucks was involved in my weekend!

Big News.

I've jabbered on here before about wanting our own home- dreaming about it- wondering where it could possibly be....

WE FOUND IT!!

I searched.
I found.
I desired.
I talked to Hubs.
We checked it out.
We offered.
We were accepted!!

I'm still completely in shock. Overwhelmed. Scared. Excited!!

We won't be closing until January 4th, so of course, something could go wrong before then. (It has before!) But, I'm truly hoping not!

It's beautiful & so beyond any "first home" expectations we had for ourselves.
God is good!

I think this is easily going to be my favorite room in the house. I've always wanted a fireplace!!

The Kitchen is great. Can't wait to utilize it!

This deck? Hubs & I have been dreaming about it forever. Sitting on our very own deck & staring up at a full sky of stars. Can't wait for that.

Can't wait to take you along our journey of home ownership.

The Weekend has Ended.

Buh.
Weekends go by so quickly- yet, I can't say that my weekends are terribly fantastical anyway.
My Husband works 15 hours every Saturday- luckily that all ends in January and I'll have lots of fabulous Day Trips to blog about!
This weekend consisted of :
Wearing a { new sweater }, that I love!
I even received a compliment while I was out & about :)
Finished a book that I can easily recommend to anyone who has  the slightest of dry humors. It's called "Penelope" by Rebecca Harrington
It's definitely one of those that makes you laugh out loud.
And of course, cuddling with one of our Furries, 007.
He thinks I'm his personal pillow.
I'm okay with this- because I feel the same about him :)
Facebook.
Do you have a Facebook page set up for your blog?
I've been debating it for awhile- but can't decide if it's worth it?
Or even, what the point is?
Someone explain this to me!

You know.

So ready to decorate!!

Dear Snow,
You're pretty.
I'll acknowledge your presence this year, I think.

Dear Weekend,
Thank you for coming fairly quickly.
It's much needed.

Dear Coffee,
You are pudging me out.
Can't you be full of sugary goodness and healthy toooo??

Dear Future Home,
Where are you?
We've been tryin' to find ya.

Dear Sephora,
You've been tempting me, you temptress!

Dear Laundry,
You & me have a date tonight.
BUH.
I wish I could say it was a blind date...

Dear Mr. President

I voted today!
Although, I wish I could post a picture of me wearing my awesome sticker- we actually got really simple. Really tiny. Really ugly stickers. So no picture on that.

I don't know about how this whole political ordeal has been for you- but it's been really stressful for me.  I'm simple in the way that I don't dwell too much on politics. They're depressing to me.

So, here are a few pictures of things that are happy, non-political, and comforting. :)

As of late, I've really enjoyed Biscottis with my coffee. They're so light and flavorful. Plus I feel like I can dream a little easier of being at a small Cafe' in Paris :)

After voting today, I pulled my pajamas back on, along with the first two socks I pulled out of my drawer. Of course they were different patterns. Luckily, I don't think the Hubs noticed, ha!

We woke up late today and had a large Lunch, which happened to be breakfast. :) So we had French Toast with Strawberries. It was so good! I think next time I'll try my hand at Stuffed French Toast.

If you haven't visited "Shabby Apple" in awhile- they've got a 10% off sale going on- all Red dresses- go check it out!

On a Brisk Saturday Morning, She Blogged...

....That sounds like it could be in a Novel, right?
 Yes!
 I think I'll use it. Ha :)

I am so in love with the above photo. I love the colors, the sweater, the expression- but it displays the one rule that I try and live by for myself.

If you're going to wear something casual- or more on the "comfy" side (Which for me includes yoga pants and a sweatshirt almost daily for work)- Than do your hair and makeup.
I tend to feel frumpy if I'm wearing something chunky & over sized- without makeup, jewelry, or a nice bag. (At least out in public!)

Do you have a fashion rule you try to maintain?

"As Far as You're Concerned, Mademoiselle, No."

Dear Chickenpox,
You have impeccable timing.
(I don't have them, the Child I Nanny for)

Dear Finger Nails,
Quit breaking!
I take good care of you!
What more do you want?!

Dear Peppermint Mocha,
Quite good, quite good indeed.

Dear Time,
Thank you for allowing me to start & finish a book.

Dear Age 25,
What will you do to me?
I'm kind of nervous.
For the first time, ever, I'm slightly dreading February.

Dear Kittes,
Squeeze, Squeeze, Squeeze!
