The Outward Fight of the War Within.

I’ve been challenged by recent events to go way, way out on a limb- putting myself out to the wolves, and giving all my heart to write how I feel about this constructively.

Homosexuality (Yes, one of these kind of posts) is one of the most largely discussed topics in our Country.  Especially making it an issue of Christians vs. Homosexuals.  One group or the other is made to look like the “bad guy” in every conversation. And, it’s not OK.

We can’t “all get along”- if neither group is willing to grow up.

When it comes to being a Christian, there is an extremely growing misconception that you cannot love a Homosexual. (Or any other type of Sinner. Someone who commits adultery, someone who steals, someone who murders, someone who lies….you get it, right?)

In fact, Homosexuals and those that support them- call Christians “Close-minded”- because they feel they aren’t being loved, and accepted with open arms.

It’s easy to see why Homosexuals would feel this way. (Again, or any other group that feels that they’re being ganged up on or treated unfairly).  Especially those who see themselves as practicing Christians.

So here my friend is the kicker. The Truth.

God loves Homosexuals…and you, whoever you are…should love them, too. After all, at the end of the day… “We’re all made the same on the inside”- right?

But I’m here to tell you, you cannot know the Word of God- and practice any sin, and get through Christ’s judgment untouched and be passed through the pearly gates into Heaven.  This is for all Sinners (Yes, even those of you who are homosexuals.  Even those of you who told a “little white lie” to your friend the other day.  Even those of you who got hammered at a party last night.  Those of you who stomped the streets shouting that God Hates Homosexuals.)

God’s Word is the same, through and through- no matter how you weave your way in and out of it.

God is Love, yes. He absolutely is! And that’s one of the wonderful things of accepting Him as your Lord and Savior.

But He is so much more than that. He’s a loving, forgiving, all-knowing God. And within that Love comes and understanding that when you misbehave, like any child under a Parent’s care, you are disciplined.

Here, “misbehaving” is sinning, a sin of any kind- in case you misinterpreted that. “Disciplined” is referring to not being able to enjoy the gift of Eternal Life when it’s time.

I’m not sure how our World has twisted these issues so much that it’s made everyone turn against each other. Being down right mean , even.  (OK, wait. I do know how.  Devil, much?)

You can love a Sinner without accepting their sin.

You can be a Homosexual – acknowledging that the Bible is completely clear on that lifestyle-and get along just fine with a Christian (or anyone else who doesn’t support the lifestyle).

You can be a Christian- and love a Sinner harder than you’ve loved anyone, acknowledging that you cannot condone their lifestyle.

We aren’t ever going to be able to please everyone in everything we do.  We aren’t going to be able to clearly express what we mean or how we feel all of the time. We’re humans. Some of us are striving for different things. Some of us believe in the Lord & others don’t.

But at the end of the Day- we really can love each other, despite differences.

Don’t hate. Never hate.

And don’t take someone not accepting your lifestyle, as being hated as a human being.

Don’t get it twisted and create huge issues that don’t need to be there. Nowhere does it say that as a Christian, you have to show your lack of support towards a sinful lifestyle by being a jerk towards that person. And, no one ever said that as a Sinner, you're entitled to everyone accepting your lifestyle. (You don’t have to be jerks, either!)

God loves everyone. EVERYONE. So much. He wouldn’t have sent His only Son to die for our sins- if He didn’t. (But…there *are* sins. Remember that reason as to why Jesus died on the Cross? Fortunately, there is always a way out. Forgiveness.)

I hope you don’t misunderstand me on this. I really hope you don’t fly off the handle, bad mouthing me about my beliefs or convictions- not everyone sees things the same way, and my point is….that’s OK. It’s expected. But there is no reason to blast someone for it.
However, if you choose to be upset or disagree with me or "unfriend"me...that's OK too. :)
