Pippy Long Stockings.

We had to put our little girl, Pip, down today.

We loved Pip very much, although we only had her two months.

She was so homely looking that she was cute.
She had the biggest ears you've ever seen.
Big brown eyes & smelly breath.
She loved food & danced around in circles at meal time.
She loved chasing Moneypenny & sleeping in 007's bed.
She loved to think she was a fast runner on walks, although one of my steps equalled four of hers.
She liked to wiggle around on the floor to itch her back.

There was more than one instance where we thought maybe we needed to give her back to the Woman we had got her from.
But every time we considered it, talked about it, cried about it (on my end)- we felt like we needed to keep her.

After very quickly losing her sight and a lot of her hearing- we began Vet visits and each one showed that she was getting progressively worse.

So, today. Was the day.

We're both absolutely heart broken.
We've been asked why we adopted a Dog that was so old.
We've been told that we didn't really love her, because we thought about giving her away. (When we thought someone else could take care of her better)

But, despite what everyone says or thinks they know.

We loved Pip very much.
We're one member of the Family less today- and we miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss. I still miss my pup even though he didn't die. It's hard for me not knowing what life is like right now for my dog or where he is. I hope healing comes soon to your little family.

I'm so sorry for your loss Amanda. I know how much you love your animals and I know it was a incredibly hard decision.

Please don't listen to those people who tell you that you aren't a good person for considering what the best options were for Pip. They don't know your situation and don't understand that your heart was always in the right place.

I`m sorry for your loss. It sounds like her life had been getting hard, though, so it was most likely the correct choice. I`m sorry that people have been saying hurtful words about it to you, perhaps they do not realize they are being hurtful with their offhand comments? I can`t only imagine how hard it must be to adopt a pet and then have it's quality of life diminish so quickly, and I`m sorry that you lost her. Hope you are doing all right, and know that there are people out there thinking of you this weekend.

People are cruel! Don't listen to them, they know nothing! Listen to what your heart tells you instead. So sorry that you had to let her go. I'm sure you did the right thing. Hugs!
