Where the Heart Is

You know how people constantly quote "Home is where the heart is" and "Home is wherever I'm with You"- ?

I've realized more and more each year that I'm away from my Family (by 12 hours, if we're being specific) that a piece of my heart is always there. I absolutely love the support, encouragement, the laughter, and the memories that come with visiting my Family in Michigan. When we leave my heart literally hurts, because I'm sad to leave.

I used to feel guilty about that. Because, man. If K is my Husband and the love of my life- I should never miss being anywhere else, right?

I don't feel guilty anymore, though. Because I love my Family. And I love my Husband. Just different kinds of love. And that's totally OK.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through these photos and are able to find something sweet about them.

Also, Happy Christmas Eve. Give your loved ones a big hug if you're so blessed as to be with them.

Four Years

Hubs & I just celebrated our 4th Anniversary- and it was a blast! We can honestly both say it was our best anniversary yet.

Typically, we just find a cute b&b or get a favorite meal out.

This Year we went to New Hampshire & did lots of outdoor activities and enjoyed restaurants we've never tried.

It rained basically the entire trip, including one ginormous storm right as we reached our Lodge- but it added to the fun of our Anniversary. Stepping out of our comfort zone and enjoying each other's company no matter what the conditions.

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you've already seen some of these pictures. But for those of you who haven't...a little description under each photo.

...Onto Year Five!

The back of Bear Mountain Lodge- built almost entirely by the Keeper.

Views from the deck- so beautiful!

Us at a lookout at Lucknow Castle

On top of Cannon Mountain. All that white fog?
Clouds.

Romantic atmosphere.

Heading off in the rain to do some off-roading.

Friday (!)

Dearest Friday,
You. Will always be my favorite day.

Dear Dollar Store,
I just spent bookoo bucks on kids that aren't mine.
Positive is, I got bookoo things.

Dear 007,
I really love you.
You're my favorite pet.
(Don't tell Moneypenny....or Creeper. Or Pip. Or Cali. Or Runway. Or Emmett. Or Kitty. Or Pepper, either.)

Dear Person-Who-Created-Awesome-Books-With-Cool-Covers-And-Empty-Pages-And-Sold-Them,
You are a genius.
I love to journal.

Dear Cable,
Welcome back.
I look forward to partaking in HGTV excitement once again.

Dear Husband,
"Girl, you know it's true..." repeated over and over, is not considered a song.

Dear Bachelorette,
You totally confused me this Year.
I saw your face when Brooks visited the stage.....
Enough said.

Goodnight Moon

It's rare that Kyle and I get a day of work off together where either of us didn't have to take a vacation or personal day.  So today being Good Friday, we did!
Usually I like to have plans for the day. Get up at this time, have breakfast at that time, go to the store at this time..... you get the picture.
So today I deliberately didn't want to make any plans for our day together. Truly just have a day off, no obligations.
I woke up at a nice, ripe time of 11:30am and believing that Kyle was still asleep ( he never wakes up before I do..), I proceeded to pick up and read my book for half an hour-carefully turning the pages as to not wake up my handsome sleeping spouse.
Then...I hear a cough....coming from outside our bedroom. "Kyle?"  I call.  "Yeeaaah?" He answers.
HMPH! He was awake the whoooole time.  Since 9:30am to be exact.
I could have been turning my book pages louder! ha.

We got lunch.
We went on a 4 mile walk in beautiful weather.
We watched a movie.
We had dinner.

And then, remembering that there was a carnival going on- I convinced Kyle to take me out so I could get some good pictures.  And, I got some!  (And also some other pictures around town that you may find....neat?)

Until next time, enjoy extra time with someone you love.
